This beautiful house, gently sloping down the slopes of Cologne towards Lake Geneva, is located in the most elegant area of Geneva. Villa "Les Ailes", inspired by Le Corbusier, was built in 1932 by Louis Vincent and Jean-Jacques Honegger.
It consists of three intersecting “parallelepipeds”, arranged in steps to make optimal use of the sloping terrain and create terraced openings that highlight the main advantage: the breathtaking view of the sparkling waters of Lake Geneva.
Extensive restoration work has been carried out on this gem of 1930s modernist architecture. The pool is set on a large overhanging terrace, complemented by a brise-soles wall, creating a real solarium. A monumental staircase descends to a filled garden, adorned with a fountain and a winged lion sculpture, allowing access to the terrace and reception area without having to enter the house. The original shades of the facades were discovered through chromatic studies. The choice of the color palette was entirely entrusted to the (Swiss) artist Georges Aubert, whose close connections with Le Corbusier led him to become interested in architectural polychrome.
