House in Helmstedt, Germany, 200 m²

The proposed house stands on a plot of approximately 171 m2 and includes four apartments with a total area of about 200 m2.
There is no data on the area in the outbuildings on the ground floor of the side and rear houses.
Communications: water, electricity, sewerage are connected to the public network. Water and electricity were recently installed. The heating still needs to be done.
The house is located on a corner plot with a facade along the street and facing the Ziegenmarkt. It is the final building of a closed line of houses. A two-storey building is attached to the back of the house, the side and rear buildings are used as living quarters on the upper floors, and on the ground floor there are utility rooms and passageways. The house and the surrounding wall form a small paved courtyard. The plot has access to the street, but access to the territory is not possible; the entrance to the house is through a side building.
The site is located in the area of the current land use plan with the designation as a "mixed zone" and is classified as an internal territory according to Section34 of the BauGB. The object is under the protection of an architectural monument.

The site is located on the corner of Albrechtsstrasse and Ziegenmarkt streets. Both streets serve mainly for the movement of residents and service vehicles, Ziegenmarkt passing only in one direction.

Helmstedt is the district center of Helmstedt County in Lower Saxony.
The city is located between Elm and Lappwald, about 40 km east of Braunschweig, on the border with Saxony-Anhalt. Helmstedt is accessible via the A2 autobahn, which runs in the immediate vicinity, with three exits (61-63). Since 2005, the B1 has been passing through the city in a west-easterly direction, bypassing the city center. The B244 and B245a approach the city from the north and south.
During the division of Germany, here, on A2, was the main border checkpoint between Germany and the GDR, as well as the western end of one of the transit routes to West Berlin.
