Archaeological discoveries on the site
During its former use as a marl mine, several archaeological discoveries were made, such as:
-Elements of the Mollusca Collection, a collection of shell fossils, many of which were found in the marl on the site.
-Another important collection of fossilized Eocene fauna held in the Tata Museum, comprising several hundred specimens.
-In the 1950s, a skeleton cemetery dating to the Middle Ages which was found during mining excavations.
As such, the area retains a designated archaeological site where future discoveries are expected. The development of the property must include the archaeological excavations of this designated area before construction work is carried out within this restricted area.
