About the project:
The Sustainable City project conforms to the principle of a low-carbon lifestyle. It is aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens while reducing the negative impact on the environment. Using clean energy, water and waste recycling, food production, clean mobility and improved air quality, it is Oman's first net-zero energy city centered on people.
As part of an integrated approach to sustainable development, the city provides gyms, a sports complex, a running and cycling track with a length of 7.4 km, outdoor fitness stations, tennis courts, basketball courts, 11 playgrounds, swimming pools, an equestrian club, more than 3 km of hiking trails and access to non-motorized water sports on the beach. The school and kindergarten located on the territory of the complex are within walking or cycling distance from all areas without crossing the road.
Thanks to the well-thought-out landscape, residents can engage in agriculture on public plots, and grow greens and leafy vegetables in greenhouses.
