This is a beautiful house, gently sloping down the slopes of Cologne overlooking Lake Geneva, in the most elegant area of Geneva. Villa "Les Ailes", inspired by the work of Le Corbusier, was built in 1932 by Louis Vincent and Jean-Jacques Honegger.
It consists of three interconnected parallelepipeds, arranged in steps to make the most efficient use of the slope and create terrace openings that highlight its main asset: a breathtaking view of the shimmering waters of Lake Geneva.
Major renovations have been carried out to breathe new life into this 1930s modernist landmark. The pool is set on a large overhanging terrace, decorated with a brise-soleil wall to create a real solarium. A monumental staircase leads to a sunken garden, decorated with a fountain and a “winged lion” sculpture, allowing access to the terrace and reception areas without entering the house. The original colors of the facades were discovered through chromatic studies. The choice of colors was entrusted to the Swiss artist Georges Aubert, whose close connections with Le Corbusier led him to an interest in architectural polychrome.
