This is a magnificent house that gently slopes down the slopes of Cologne overlooking Lake Geneva, the most elegant place in Geneva. Villa "Les Ailes", inspired by the works of Le Corbusier, was built in 1932 by Louis Vincent and Jean-Jacques Honegger.
It consists of three interconnected “parallelepipeds” positioned to make the most of the sloping topography and create terraced spaces that highlight its main asset: the stunning view of the sparkling waters of Lake Geneva.
Extensive work has been carried out to update this masterpiece of 1930s modernism. The pool is set on a large overhanging terrace, adorned with a salt brieze wall to create a true solarium. A monumental staircase descends into a sunken garden, decorated with a fountain and a sculpture (of a "winged lion"); it allows you to get to the terrace and reception areas without going through the interior of the house.
The original shades of the facades were rediscovered as a result of chromatic research. The choice of colors was entrusted to the Swiss artist Georges Aubert, whose close connections with Le Corbusier led him to an interest in architectural polychrome.
