Yenikey is a district of Istanbul Province (Turkey) on the European shore of the Bosphorus Strait in the northern part of the city. This area, which has a long coastline, boasts a beautiful coastline and dense forest. Located on steep, wooded hills, Yenikei had many fishing villages. Later, this area became a favorite vacation spot for wealthy residents of Istanbul. During the Ottoman Empire, sultans came here for picnics and excursions. In the XVIII and XIX centuries, villas of wealthy foreign merchants Pera and Galata were built on the coast. Many foreign embassies also built apartments here during this period. A good road was built along the coast, dense wooded hills behind it attracted wealthy businessmen of Istanbul to purchase plots for suburban construction.
