Mersin is a megalopolis with a population of 1,900,000 inhabitants. It is developed with its public and private schools, kindergartens, hospitals, several shopping malls, large chain stores. From a tourist point of view, the city is only developing. Many new complexes are being built close to the sea. The main feature of the city is the absence of a highway separating the embankment and residential complexes. People come here who prefer a calm, measured and budget vacation or life. Real estate prices are not at their peak yet. In 2024, Mersin will start operating its own Chukurova Airport, which will accept flights from Istanbul and Ankara.
